Each November, the Leonid meteor shower dazzles skywatchers as Earth passes through the debris trail of Comet Tempel–Tuttle.
While the Leonids produce a modest 15 meteors per hour in most years, they are legendary for their spectacular meteor storms —
rare events when thousands of meteors streak across the sky in a single hour.
Famous Leonid storms lit up the heavens in 1966, 1999, 2001, and 2002, leaving lasting memories for everyone lucky enough to see them.
